Dean Deborah Merrill-Sands
Deborah Merrill-Sands is the dean of the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. Prior to joining Paul College in 2015, Dean Merrill-Sands served as the dean of Mills College’s Lorry I. Lokey Graduate School of Business from 2010-2015, where she also held the Glenn and Ellen Voyles Chair in Business Education. Dean Merrill-Sands’ tenure at the School of Management of Simmons College (1996-2010) included the leadership positions of dean and associate dean as well as co-founder and co-director the Center for Gender in Organizations.
Dean Merrill-Sands is the author of numerous journal articles, monographs, and book chapters. Her research and consulting focuses on diversity and gender dynamics in the workplace, women and leadership, organizational effectiveness and leading change. Most recently, she has explored business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. |
Sarah Samuels '04 Partner, NEPC Sarah is a partner at NEPC and oversees the firm's public markets and hedge fund investment research. Prior to joining NEPC, she was managing director at Wellesley College, where she was responsible for the investment of the College's endowment, including manager selection across private markets, public markets, and hedge funds, asset allocation and portfolio construction. Earlier in her career, Sarah was the deputy chief investment officer at Mass PRIM, where she chaired the internal Investment Committee and oversaw asset allocation, investment research, and manager selection across asset classes. Samuels led the portfolio management of the $45 billion public markets and hedge fund portfolios. Samuels also worked as an associate portfolio manager at Boston Advisors and in a variety of roles at Wellington Management Company.
Samuels is a Director of the CFA Society Boston and the University of New Hampshire Boards, serves on the Advisory Board for Girls Who Invest, and founded the Boston chapter of Private Equity Women Investor Network (PEWIN). She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations, earned an MBA in Finance at Boston University, and a BA in German and minor in Business from the University of New Hampshire. |
Abby Paul '06
Partner in Asset and Wealth Management Sector, PwC Abby is an Assurance Partner in PwC’s Asset & Wealth Management practice. She has more than 13 years of experience serving large, complex, global asset management firms, with a focus on private equity funds, hedge funds, and fund of funds.
In the Northeast, Abby co-chaired the Women’s Leadership Council, where she has designed and executed a Women’s Mentoring Program that empowers and inspires women to realize their potential through workshops on vulnerability, authentic leadership and men as allies. Abby was a 2018 participant of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Boston Future Leaders program and a 2019 participant in the All in for Advancement program. Abby was named a Ten Outstanding Young Leader by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce in 2019. Before joining PwC, Abby received both her BS in Business Administration (‘06) and MS in Accounting (‘07) from the University of New Hampshire, where she has since led PwC’s recruiting efforts and served as a mentor and advocate for many fellow Wildcats. |
